Mexico seeks the opening of 30 new markets

Mexico plans to export its agricultural products to around 30 new markets (photo: gob mx).
Senasica (Servicio Nacional de Sanidad, Inocuidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria), the National Service for Health, Safety and Food Quality, is working to put in place agreements with the authorities of around 30 countries for the entry of Mexican fruits and vegetables.
With the goal of 16 new export markets in the Americas, 15 new markets in Asia and 5 new markets in Africa.
In terms of other products, Mexico would like to export avocados, lemons, mangoes, coconuts, peaches, beans and table grapes to Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Venezuela.
Asian countries, including China, South Korea, India and Japan, are considering the possibility of marketing avocados, blueberries, pumpkins, asparagus and lemons.
In the last two years, Mexico has been striving to diversify its export markets for its agricultural products. Its main customer, the United States, concentrating nearly 80% of exports.
