Ahold completes sale of Spanish stores

Ahold has that it has completed the EUR 685 million sale of its Spanish retail stores to private equity group Permira Funds. Ahold operated almost 600 stores in Spain employing around 14,000 staff, with sales of about EUR 2 billion.
