Ahold sells off Golden Gallon

Dutch food retailer Ahold has announced the sale of its US fuel and convenience Golden Gallon stores to The Pantry Inc. The deal is reported to be worth about USD 187 million.
Golden Gallon has 138 stores, with a staff of 1100, and has been part of Ahold since 2000.
The sell off is a continuation of Ahold's strategy to focus on its core food businesses.
