The year 2021 was a successful one for Groupe Omer-Decugis & Cie, which recorded its 11th consecutive year of growth in turnover, selling over 119,000 tonnes of fresh fruit and vegetables on the French and European markets.
Omer-Decugis & Cie, an international group specialising in fresh and exotic fruit and vegetables, has published its annual results for the financial year 2020/21 (ending 30 September 2021), and its turnover for the first quarter of 2021/22 (from 1 October to 31 December 2021).
For the full year 2020/21, the Omer-Decugis & Cie Group posted annual sales of €137.6 million, up 15.0% on the previous year, representing more than 119,000 tonnes of fruit and vegetables delivered. The Group recorded sustained and homogeneous growth in its two business segments (IMS, Bratigny) as well as in all product ranges.
For the 1st quarter of 2021/22, the Omer-Decugis & Cie group published a turnover of 50.7 million euros, up +80.2%.
The beginning of the year was marked by an exceptional month of December, driven in particular by the Madagascar lychee campaign, distributed throughout Europe during the Christmas period. During the first quarter, Omer-Decugis & Cie continued to implement its strategic plan with the acquisition, in December 2021, of Anarex, a wholesaler specialising in exotic and ethnic products at the Paris-Rungis International Market.
"We have achieved a very good performance in the 2020/21 financial year and the start of the 2021/22 financial year is excellent and confirms our ambitions. We have recorded a record level of activity in our two divisions (SIIM and Bratigny). More than ever, our Group is committed to sustainable and profitable growth in the service of healthy, diversified and responsible agriculture, attentive to the demands of European consumers looking for quality fresh fruit and vegetables produced according to the best social and environmental practices" commented Vincent Omer-Decugis, Chairman and CEO of Omer-Decugis & Cie.
The activity of the first quarter of 2021/22 testifies to the very good commercial dynamics of the Group, which is targeting a consolidated turnover of 175 million euros in 2023.
