Small sales increase for Carrefour

Carrefour has announced that group turnover increased by 3.2 percent in 2004 to EUR 81.4 billion.
Sales for its important French market improved in the final quarter, but still registered a like for like drop of 1 percent.
In 2004, Carrefour opened 934 new outlets, of which over half were in the hard discount format.
Carrefour now has over 11,000 stores.
