The Indian state of Punjab plans to multiply by 3 the volume of Kinnow exports.
A senior official of the state said that about 5000 tons of Kinnow was exported last year to new markets (Russia, Ukraine, Saudi Arabia, Dubai), the export target is 15,000 tons for this year.
The recognized quality of Indian fruits and demand increasing at international level should achieve this goal in the current year. In addition, the state government announced a subsidy to producers to ensure them a remunerative price.
