Strawberry of Spain: the sector prepares the ground in China

China, first world producer, wishes the cooperation of the Spanish companies for its needs of modernization
First world producer with 1,5 million tons of strawberries harvested annually, China wishes to modernize this sector before 3 years to improve the quality and the productivity.
The Chamber of Commerce of Spain in China and Almeria's Chamber of Commerce organized a technical meeting between the companies of 2 countries to study the possibilities of cooperation in various sectors as plastics, irrigation, marketing and distribution.
9 Spanish companies, coming from Andalusia, presented their projects and made the first contacts with Chinese contractors. Other collaborations should follow before 2012.
"China is a market in growth, with an important capacity of development. Strawberry is a very important product, Chinese are big consumers of fruit ", declared Javier Cano, Chief Executive Officer of Eurosemillas.
In 2012, China will welcome the next world meeting Strawberry Symposium to Changping near Beijing.
