Citrus marketing cooperative Sunkist Growers has announced that Russ Hanlin, currently senior vice-president of sales and marketing, is to succeed Tim Lindgren as president and CEO.
Sunkist's board of directors unanimously elected Mr Hanlin at its board meeting on 19 March, and he will assume the new position on 1 November 2008 when Mr Lindgren retires.
In the interim, Mr Hanlin, a 30-year veteran of Sunkist, takes the title of executive vice-president as of 1 April.
Mr Lindgren came out of retirement in 2006 to oversee Sunkist's transition after the resignation of then-president and CEO Jeff Gargiulo. Mr Hanlin, meanwhile, has served a range of roles for Sunkist, most recently leading the realignment of its sales organization.
"Russ knows Sunkist. He has experience in every aspect of our sales and marketing operations," said Sunkist board chairman Nick Bozick.
