Production of peaches and nectarines in decline

Europêch announced harvest expectations in decline for the 2010 season.
Europêch revealed the first estimations of the European production of peaches and nectarines at the Medfel.
For 2010, the European production of peaches is estimated at 1.328.000 tons, that is 3 % less than in 2009. But the production by country is more contrasted.
In France, the production should decrease in 8 % with regard to the last season.
In Italy, the decline should be 4 % while Greece plans to increase its 8 % production after the low harvest of 2009.
For nectarines, the harvest 2010 should post a decline of 7 % in 1.347.000 tons, with diferents forecasts by country: 14 % for France, 12 % for Spain, 5 % for Greece and 3 % for Italy.
