A new market with high potential
Russia

When 09/11 terrorist attacks on the USA have dampened a lot of emergent countries, it seems they did not affect Russia' s growth prospects. And even more, the global climate seems to be favourable to investments. According to an AT Kearney study, 59% of distributors think it is time to invest in Russia whereas 16% think it is too early and 25%, too late. Intermarché, the French distributor, is said to be eyeing the Russian, Byelorussian and Ukrainian markets. As for the Auchan group, it has already started the construction of its future hypermarket in Mystichi, Moscow. Two other stores should open within 2002.
