New record for Dutch onion exports which exceeded 1,300 million kilos for the 2021/22 season (Photo: holland-onions.org).
Dutch onion exports are doing well with a record result for the 3rd consecutive year. The 2021/22 export season set a new volume record, with an increase of +7% compared to the previous season.
According to Holland Onions, exports for the 2021/22 season exceeded the volume of 1,300 million kilos. An increase of +7% compared to the 2020/21 season (1,215 million kilos) and +9% compared to the 2020/21 season (1,186 million kilos), which had each established in their time a new record.
For this 2021/22 season, the number of importing countries was 129. The main destinations were Côte d'Ivoire, Senegal and Great Britain.
After this top three, follow in the ranking: Guinea, Mauritania, Malaysia, Mali, the Philippines, Belgium, Gambia, Germany, Indonesia, France, Sierra Leone, Spain.
