Rare ripe cabbage is expected to be late in Ukraine

Ukrainian cabbage producers have lost hope to sell this season cabbage for the prices higher than previous year’s ones.

Due to 2 weeks season delay in Western part of Ukraine and warm weather forecasts, Western Ukraine vegetables producers will start to sell cabbage 6-9 days earlier than South Ukraine farmers.

Taking into account that cabbage fields squares remain the same, prices for rare ripe cabbage will start to decrease at the beginning of May. Fall of prices is a result of hard frosts and snowfalls during winter-spring 2013 period in Ukraine. Cabbage low quality as well as market condition will also influence on export activity of local producers and as a result cause costs decreasing.
