Colombian avocado growers seek to enter the Argentine market

According to the latest data from the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA), the municipalities of San Bernardo and Pandi, Cundinamarca, are working to gain access to the Argentine market for Hass avocado. In order to achieve this, the official monitoring process for quarantine pests on the farms is carried out.
ICA is in charge of the export authorization processes. To comply with the requirements of Argentine authorities, ICA reinforced the official surveillance of avocado producers.
In the province of Sumapaz there is an upward trend in the Hass avocado cultivation. Currently there are some 103 registered hectares, distributed among the municipalities of Facatativá, Cabrera, El Colegio, Fusagasugá, Guaduas, Pandi, La Mesa, Pasca, Sasaima, San Bernardo, Silvania, San Francisco, Supatá, Granada and Venice.
