Record production of 110 000 tons for the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Georgia, which also includes three other producing regions (Guria, Imereti, Samegrelo) and totals 3,000 hectares of citrus.

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, Georgia, announced that the citrus harvest reached 110 000 tons, almost double (52 000 tons) produced last year.
The 80% production is destined for foreign markets. The main export market is traditionally Ukraine that receives most citrus of Georgia. This year, with the resumption of exports to Russia, suspended since 2006, volumes are expected to reach 50 000 tons to the Russian market.
