The supply of staples, including fruit and vegetables, has exceeded 9,000 tonnes to date, MIDAGRI reports.
The supply of staple products, including fruit and vegetables, has exceeded 9,000 tonnes to date, reports the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI). Among the most important products are corn, onion, tomato, avocado, passion fruit and banana.
In total, the main wholesale supply markets received 9,400 tonnes of fruit and vegetables. The Gran Mercado Mayorista de Lima (GMML) registered the entry of 6,787 tonnes of pulses, vegetables and tubers, as well as 2,117 tonnes of potatoes in different varieties, maintaining stocks at optimal levels.
The wholesale prices of the main products today are: carrot at S/ 0.77/kg ($0.21), pumpkin at S/ 0.93/kg ($0.25), yellow cassava at S/ 1.00/kg ($0.27), canchan potato at S/ 1.59/kg ($0.43), red onion at S/ 1.65/kg ($0.44) and Katia tomato at S/ 1.71/kg ($0.46), among others.
MIDAGRI has made various applications available to the public, such as Agrochatea, Mi Caserita and SISAP, to consult wholesale and retail prices of staple products in real time.
