Fresh fruit exports from Chile experience a rise of 9%

According to the Association of Fruit Exporters of Chile AG (ASOEX), Chilean exports of fresh fruits for the 2020-2021 season registered an increase of 8.96 percent, compared to the same period of the previous year.
Chile exported 843.671 tons of fresh fruits to various international markets: 46.7 percent went to the Far East, 24.10 percent to the United States, 14.1 percent to Latin America, 13.5 percent to Europe, 1.3 percent to Canada and 0.2 percent to the Middle East.
The main recipient countries in the Far East for Chilean fruits are China (90.9 percent), South Korea (3.6 percent) and Taiwan (2.1 percent).
The main destinations in Latin America are Colombia (20.4 percent of the total), Brazil (19.5 percent) and Ecuador (13.3 percent).
In Europe: Holland with 55.2 percent of the total, followed by England with 23.8 percent and Spain with 7.8 percent.
The main exported fruits are cherries, with 41.3 percent of the total volume, blueberries with 11.6 percent, apples with 8.3 percent, avocados with 8.2 percent, and table grapes with 8 percent.
