Cooperation of Panama with Spanish Vegetable Company

Spanish agroempresa Ramafrut, SL, revealed the minister of Farming Development in Panama, Guillermo Salazar, its firm intention to increase its investment in Panama, that to the date already surpasses million dollars both and has generated 400 temporary seats of work in River Cattle ranch.
Ramafrut SL, is a company with more than twenty years, dedicated to the production and commercialization of watermelon, melon, pumpkin, red pepper and cauliflower and is exclusive intersupplie of Mercadona supermarkets (with more than 1.100 stores), that only last year invoiced about 15.000 million dollars in sales. In 2002, RAMAFRUT initiated operations in Panama, alliance with the local company Mr. Agro.
The declarations of the Spanish industralists, on increasing their investment in about 5,2 million dollars which sum is destined initially to cultivate 400 hectares of cultures of watermelons and melons and build of a plant of packing of about 4.500 square meters.
The commercial director of RAMAFRUT, Juan Carlos Cervera, emphasized that in the last harvest - from Panama they exported little more than 400 containers and this year the projection is to surpass the 500 containers.
