As a meeting point for scientific communities, civil society and decision-makers, the EGEA 2023 conference will focus on an ambitious question: "Food, fruit and vegetables and global health: what contribution? The aim is to formulate concrete, evidence-based recommendations for changes in practices and policies.
The 9th edition of EGEA will be held from 20 to 22 September 2023 at the Novotel Hotel, Avenida Diagonal 201, in Barcelona (Spain). The event is expected to attract around 250 international participants and will feature some twenty renowned speakers in a number of sessions.
Created in 2003, the EGEA conferences are international scientific events that provide a platform for the scientific community to share and discuss their analyses and work on a healthy and sustainable diet rich in fruit and vegetables.
The consensus reached at EGEA conferences has played an active role in guiding, for example, European policy on the establishment of the European School Scheme, a vast European programme to promote the consumption of fruit and vegetables in schools. The WHO has recognised EGEA as an effective and practical strategy for promoting fruit and vegetable consumption.
