Innovation at the centre of medFEL 2022

The 2020 and 2021 face-to-face editions did not take place because of the health crisis. The 2022 edition will mark the return of the medFEL trade fair, the only meeting place for the fruit and vegetable sector held in France. 

 

 

The medFEL 2022 exhibition will take place on 27 and 28 April at the Parc des Expositions in Perpignan (France). The organisation of the trade fair explained a few points of this 2022 edition during a webconference, by Valérie Lemant (general manager of SPAS Organisation) and Vadhana Khat (responsible for the MedFEL trade fair at SPAS Organisation).

 

. Lab'Innov by medFEL

The new cluster dedicated to young innovative companies offering innovative products and/or services in the field of: sustainable development - CSR, eco-responsibility, circular economy, ecological initiatives, technological eco-innovation.

 

 

. The organic sector 

The exhibition responds to the growth in supply and demand for organic fruit and vegetables at national and international level. The Organic Market by medFEL, where exhibitors' organic fruit and vegetables are displayed at the entrance to the fair in an "organic market", and Organic Road by medFEL, a circuit to identify organic offers more quickly.

 

 

. Forecasts 

Face-to-face: the melon planting forecasts will be announced on Wednesday April 27 at 2 p.m. and the European apricot harvest forecasts on Thursday April 28 at 3:30 p.m. During a webinar: European harvest forecasts for peaches and nectarines will be announced on Tuesday 24 May (free registration). 

 

 

.Exhibitors / Visitors

For this 2022 edition, the organisers expect 200 exhibitors, 150 of whom have already booked. Half of these companies come from the Occitanie region, but in terms of foreign exhibitors, only Spain and Morocco are represented for the moment. As for visitors, the organizers are expecting 5,000 people.

 

 

. Debates - Conferences 

This year medFEL will have the pleasure of welcoming two guest speakers, to shed light on the major challenges facing the fruit and vegetable sector

. David Djaïz who will speak on Wednesday 27 April at 3.30 pm at the conference "French agriculture, at a time of competitive transition. 

. Olivier Dauvers who will open the debate on 28 April at 2pm on ""Retailer brand strategies"
