India invests in Egypt for production and export

An Indian company , Embee International, plans to cultivate 33,000 acres ( 13,354 hectares ) in Egypt to produce tomatoes, onions and vegetables.
The Indian company operates , originally in the textile sector but wants to diversify. Present in Egypt for 28 years , the company participates in the project " One Million Feddan " of the President Abdul Fattah Al Sisi .
With this project of rehabilitation of lands, the Indian company will receive 33,000 acres from the Egyptian state, given for 50 years. Currently, less than 4% of the total land area is cultivated .
The production is for the Egyptian market and export markets . Trade between the two countries totaled a turnover of 4.76 billion USD from April 2014 to March 2015. India is the sixth trade partner of Egypt and the second largest destination for exports.
