Exports down by 15%

Climatic conditions in Morocco and economic crisis in Europe would be the cause of the collapse of exports of fruit and vegetables from Morocco.
According to the professionals of the sector, which recorded a decline of 15% up to the beginning of February, 590,745 tons were exported against 680,125 tons on the same date last year.
For tomatoes, 212,483 tons exported (230,934 tonnes in 2012); for citrus, 268,618 tonnes (338,693 tonnes in 2012); for the firstfruits, 322,127 tonnes (341,432 tonnes in 2012); for organic fruit and vegetables, 2,847 tons (2,585 tonnes in 2012).
