Get acquainted with Xenia Europa B.V. at Fruit Attraction in Madrid

Xenia Europa B.V. is the trading company of the growers association Xenia NL/BE (TVX) in the Netherlands.  In 2010, the company introduced the brand pear Xenia® in the European market. 

Xenia pear is known for its long shelf life and crispy bite. Compared to the other varieties, it can be stored for up to 7 days longer, which results in decreased waste of production by wholesalers and supermarkets and makes Xenia a trustful pear for consumers. 

Xenia Europa B.V. is certified by IFS Broker, QS trading, Organic, Demeter and PlanetProof. All its growers are certified by GlobalGAP and its packinghouses have a BRC certification.

According to Raymond van Ojen, Sales Manager at Xenia Europa B.V., in 2021, the company expects a harvest of 10.000 tons of conventional pears and 700 tons of organic pears.  

“The overall quality of the upcoming crop is good, the pear is round shaped and has a light green color with some small bronze rusting. The main sizes are 65-90 mm. We expect to have stock until April 2022, due to the small pear harvest in Europe. Normally, we sell Xenia until May, but in the future we want to go until August.”, comments van Ojen. 

Xenia Europa B.V. mainly exports to Germany, Scandinavia, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and France. This season, the company aims to introduce Xenia pear in Spanish and Italian markets.

“We want to introduce ourselves in the South European market, and with this aim we will exhibit at Fruit Attraction in Madrid, on October 5-7. We are looking forward to meeting new customers at stand E04, Hall 10.”, states the manager.
