Optimism for Australian producers and exporters of citrus, the shipments to China recorded unpublished progression.
Since 2010 and volumes which totaled several tens of tons, Australia records extraordinary growth rate for its citrus exports to China. From April to December 2013, Australia exported 9,100 tons of citrus in China, an increase compared to the same period of 2012, from +288% in volume and +392% in value.
Australian producers believe that this year exports to China could double. The Chinese market presents a growth opportunity never seen before, according to professionals. This is a huge market that accords a high value to imported products because they are considered healthier and safer than local products.
