Drought and frost have affected production and could cause a shortage of British sprouts.
Brussels sprouts, traditional vegetables for British Christmas season could be in short supply this year.
After a severe drought, fields of Brussels sprouts have been frozen and the harvest cannot be made by machine.
Winter conditions may continue until the holiday season on the major producing areas which will cause a shortage of vegetables.
Approximately two thirds of the British production of Brussels sprouts is harvested in preparation for Christmas. The British eat 40,000 tons per year, turnover of the sector is estimated at £ 54 million per year.
