Initiation of fusion between Val Nantais and Terrena
FJ
Merger project between the cooperatives Val Nantais and Terrena, the finalization may intervene from the end of the first half of 2014.
Val Nantais is a vegetable cooperative that makes a turnover of 55 million € with 45 members, 250 employees, sells 20,000 tons of vegetables. This merger will allow it to rely on a leader group in agriculture in western France and benefit from its R&D commitment in ecologically intensive agriculture.
For Terrena, which was absent in vegetables, this combination allows it to be present in all food sectors for the sake of balance between plant and animal production. Terrena with Val Nantais will develop innovative products in a rapidly changing market (first range, segment of salads).
Specifically, the project will involve the merger of Val Nantais in the terena cooperative. The latter will constitute the specialized vegetable group Terrena. It will retain its identity "Val Nantais" and its headquarters in St Julien-de-Concelles. Its president, Patrick Briand, will integrate the board of Terrena and preside the commission Terrena vegetable . Its director Didier Baley, will integrate the management committee of the upstream division and will lead the activity of vegetables .
