Increase of + 34% for fresh fruit exports

Remarkable growth in Peruvian exports during the first semester of 2014.
AGPAP (Asociación de Gremios de Productores Agrarios del Perú), the association of agricultural producers, has announced that fresh fruit exports reached 543,000 tonnes by the end of June. An increase of +34% compared to the same period last year.
For this semester, the main buyer was Europe with 250,000 tonnes (+17.1%), followed by United States with 171,000 tons (+ 49.8%) and Asia with 47,000 tonnes (+ 24.1%).
Ranking by products displays that mangoes are at the 1st place with 109,000 tonnes shipped (or +21%), then avocados with 105,000 tonnes (+66%) and the grapes with 103,000 tonnes (+86%). Further in the rankings, melons, strawberries, figs, peaches, apples ... Exports of blueberries sign the best performance with an increase of +517.8% over the first 6 months of 2014 .
