Estimates of the professionals of the island show a decline of about 30%.
The new season has just begun and production volumes are expected to decline this year by about 30%.
Professionals estimate production to be 20,000 tons, a normal year production reaches 30,000 tons. The planned deficit is expected to materialize in the volumes of the variety "Fine de Corse ', both in conventional and organic.
Main cause of this deficit: the alternation phenomenon. After a year with strong volumes, the next harvest is often less successful.
