The Port of Houston recorded an increase of its activities

The positive trend and prospects continue to be good said Roger Guenther, CEO of the Authority Port of Houston.

Up to today, over 28 million tonnes of cargo were handled, an increase of 5% compared to the same period last year. Operating revenues were up to 12% , the solid financial performance will allow to continue to invest and prepare another growth cycle.

This November will be special for the Port of Houston which will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Canal in deep waters ( Houston Ship Channel) . A ceremony is scheduled on November 10th and will take place during the Annual Convention of AAPA, the American Association of Port Authorities , which meet in Houston from November 9 to 13.

The Port of Houston is the perfect platform for trade, its geographical position, the multiple possibilities of transport to all destinations in the country, enabling it to position itself as the 7th US container port and the 13th largest port in the world ( tonnage) .
