Vietnam shortage of bananas for export

Important fruit producer and exporter , Vietnam is currently experiencing some shortage of bananas.

The crops are low in parts of the South and in the North banana production is abundant but the volumes that meet the standards of external demanding markets (Japan, South Coréee ) are insufficient.

Banana production has exceeded 1.355 million tonnes and exports have recently recorded enviable growth rate , up to 20 %.

To continue to increase exports, industry professionals point out the many improvements to be implemented ( plantation development , harvests according to VietGap GlobalGap standards , technical assistance, variety selection ) .
