Turkey, the third world producer of strawberries

The region of Silifke, in the south-east of the country, is the largest production center with 142,000 tons of strawberries produced in 2013 and Antalya is in second place with 33,600 tons.

In this region, the technique of production of strawberries in greenhouses is growing rapidly.

About 40 percent of production is exported, and an increase of 3 percent in the export is expected. Importing countries are primarily Russia and Romania, Bulgaria and Iraq.
