In January 2017, exports of fruit and vegetables rise up

According to statistics published by the Union of Mediterranean exporters, exporters have significantly increased sales: in quantity, citrus fruits account for 59% of total exports, reaching 110,000 metric tons, while the fresh vegetables come second with 24% of total exports and a value of 57,400 tons, followed by fresh fruit with a quantity of 26,522 tons for a percentage of 17%.
The easy peelers are the export products in the first place, corresponding to 1/4 of the total exports. Lemon is second, followed by tomatoes.
A fruit exported, out of two, is the pomegranate, followed by the apple.
As for the vegetables, the tomato remains the king of the vegetables (36% of the total vegetable exports), followed by peppers (9%).
Russia is once again back the first importing country, although Iraq (2nd place) imports more products in terms of volume. Romania and Germany follow from afar the first two countries in this ranking.
