Expected increase +27% for the production of pomegranates

The strong demand from Europe encourages producers to plant and entrain an increase in production.
In significant growth since 2010, the Peruvian production of pomegranates continues to grow.
A national report, which a synthesis of structures and industry trends for 2013, foresees a total output of 6,700 tons of pomegranates, or +27.5% compared to 2012.
This increase in production is explained by the increase of areas. Farmers continued to increase their cultivated surfaces with strong demand expressed by European countries. The Netherlands and Russia have multiplied their demands and France increased by 757.6% its Peruvian imports of pomegranates.
