Buyers in Polish market must pay the highest price in current season for Pekin cabbage since several years. Last week, horticulture companies paid 1,31 Euro/kg, it means about 80% more than before previous weekend, when this vegetable costs 0,78 Euro/kg.
For example, a year ago Pekin cabbage was offered five times smaller sums than today - about 0,25 Euro/kg. According to experts, the reasons for this record rise in prices are smaller crops and numerous plant diseases during storage of cabbage in warehouses.
