Univeg's further expansion with Katopé
Belgium
Thursday 13 September 2007
The Katopé International group could be soon integrated in the Belgian based Univeg group, one of the largest fresh produce distributors in the world, operating in 22 countries with a turnover of 2 billion euros. The Dutch group and the shareholders of Katopé have reached an agreement on the takeover of the shares, and this subject to the approval of the antitrust authorities. The acquisition of Katopé leading group, realising a turnover of 230 million euros, specialised in the production and distribution of exotic fruit, specialities and high value-added products, means to Univeg a further extension of the product range as a result of which they can offer their customers all over the world a broader selection.
Thanks to the present expertise in the field of distribution and cultivation with establishments in South Africa and South-Central America, Katopé supervises the complete supply chain. In this way, Katopé can give its clientele the greatest guarantee on quality, delivery and price-making of its products.
The integration offers to the Univeg group the additional advantage to consolidate and to expand in these regions its presence in different markets (mainly the important position of Katopé in France, South Africa and the United Kingdom), together with the existing management of Katopé.
