Mangoes exports in decline

Peruvian exports of mangoes are in decrease of 40 to 45% compared to last year.
For the 2011-2012 campaign, the Peruvian Association of Mango Exporters (APEM) notes a decrease from 40 to 45% of the volume.
The APEM provides an export volume of 63,000 metric tons (MT), approximately 2,750 containers for the 2011-2012 campaign. Exports will experience a decrease from 40 to 45% compared to last season.
A late flowering will result in low productivity according to the APEM which has made a checking on production areas before announcing these figures.
