Europe is the target for exports of melons and watermelons

New project set up to export to European markets.

A working group of various parliamentarians, farmers and the Ministry of Agriculture is studying the possibility of exporting to Europe. Fundamental question that would generate new revenue for farmers and create jobs throughout the chain.

Exported products are melons, watermelons and almonds. But there should be a certification of these products and a structuration of the sectors. The players of this project believe that all parties agree on the objectives, coordination of relevant sectors and support in the process of product certification will accelerate.

Discussions with the airline companies about export prices have already begun.
