New Zealand set to increase asparagus output

New Zealand hopes to double its production of asparagus by 2006, to a total output of 11,000 tonnes. Japan is the biggest importer of New Zealand asparagus. 60% of fresh asparagus is exported, the remaining 40% going to industry.
