The "MSC Gulsun" can carry 23 756 TEU containers (equivalent 20 feet).
In South Korea, SHI (Samsung Heavy Industries) completed the construction of the largest ship container in the world. It is one of 6 23,000 TEU container ships (20-foot equivalents) ordered by MSC (Mediterranean Shipping Company).
The ship, named "MSC Gulsun", left the Geoje Shipyard, 400 km southeast of Seoul. It is 400 meters long, 61.5 meters wide and 33.2 meters high, according to the shipbuilder. With a capacity of 224,986.4 tonnes it can carry 23,756 TEU containers (equivalent to 20 feet).
The "MSC Gulsun" will rotate China / Western Europe.
