Additional support of 11 million euros for Italian pear and kiwi growers

The Italian Ministry of Agriculture, MASAF (Ministero dell'Agricoltura, della Sovranità alimentare e delle Foreste), has announced the signing of a decree granting a further 11 million EUR to pear and kiwi growers.

 

This support confirms the attention given to these 2 important sectors in national agriculture, according to the Ministry, which specified that 8 million EUR are earmarked for the pear sector and 3 million EUR for the kiwi sector.

 

Companies which, in 2023, have recorded a reduction in the value of their production of more than 30% compared with the previous year will be eligible for the contribution. The aid will amount to EUR 1,100 per hectare for pears and EUR 1,000 per hectare for kiwifruit. 

 

This support follows a 1st measure decided last month and brings the amounts allocated to EUR 18 million for the pear sector and EUR 5 million for the kiwifruit sector, i.e. a total of EUR 23 million for these 2 sectors.
