Almond crop forecasts are revised upwards

The 2018/19 season looks very favorable with a revised upward estimate for the production of almonds (photo: agroclm.com).
After a first estimate in May, the Spanish dry fruit sector has revised upward its forecasts, which now show an increase of + 15.14% compared to the 2017 production and + 35.08% compared to the previous year. to the average of the last 5 years.
According to the La Mesa Nacional de Frutos Secos Association, where Asaja, Coag, UPA, Aeofruse (Cooperativas Agro-alimentarias de España and the Asociación Española de Organizaciones de Productores de Frutos Secos y Algarrobas) participate, the Spanish production of almonds is expected to reach 61,160 tons.
This is an increase of 15.14% compared to 53,119 tons from the previous season and 35.08% compared to the 2013-2017 average.
