Aeon will expand its MaxValue Tanja mini-supermarkets focusing on urban customers.

Significant expansion is planned in Thailand for the Aeon group through the multiplication of the smaller-sized MaxValue Tanja outlets and the opening of several supermarkets.

Aeon Thailand plans to invest THB 300 million (10 million USD) in the opening of 20 new MaxValue Tanja mini supermarkets. With the advantages of accessibility, easy installation, and suitability for urban customers, the number of supermarkets is expected to reach 40 next year and 100 in the next 3 years.

Meanwhile, Aeon will add to its conventional MaxValue supermarkets to 15 or 16 by opening an additional 2 or 3. Aeon Thailand expects global to increase 20% for the year 2011.
