Direne Packaging from Kenya announces opening of Phase 1 of new packing house

Direne Packaging works with Fresh Fruits and Vegetables farmers in Kenya to supply to the World market the best quality mangoes, avocados and several varieties of vegetables grown by small holder farmers in Kenya.
Direne Packaging had invested in an ultra-modern Pack House that will do fresh, frozen and pulp avocados as well as other fresh fruits and vegetables.
Tom Owuor CEO & Managing Partner shares:
"Phase 1 of this facility is now fully operational and from here we shall be doing fresh avocados for a start. The main difference is that instead of applying wax to preserve the quality, we shall be doing ozone treatment instead. This will ensure uniformity in ripening as soon as the avocados are put in the ripening chambers in their destination and will greatly improve on the quality of Kenyan avocados."
"We are able to accurately give Oil and Dry matter Content through our automated system among other value added services."
This new equipment will certainly enable the company to offer better quality to its world customers.
