Peru’s strawberry exports rise sharply by April 2026

Peru exported US$15.85 million worth of strawberries between January and April 2026, with shipments reaching 8.27 million kilos, according to Agrodata. The average export price stood at US$1.92 per kilo.
The result was well above the same period of 2025, when exports reached around US$8.54 million and 4.53 million kilos. This means export value increased by about 86%, while volume rose by around 83%.
January was the strongest month so far in 2026, with US$6.25 million exported. April also showed strong growth, rising to US$2.63 million and 1.25 million kilos, compared with only US$365,969 and 193,813 kilos in April 2025.
The United States was the main destination, taking US$7.55 million, or nearly half of total exports. Canada followed with US$3.82 million and a 24% share. Other key markets included Japan with 10%, Guatemala with 6%, South Korea with 5%, and Germany with 3%.
The average export price also improved slightly, rising from about US$1.89/kg in January–April 2025 to US$1.92/kg in the same period of 2026.
