Lower supply of Spanish mandarins in Poland
Poland
Tuesday 20 January 2009
On the Polish market the supply of Spanish mandarins is too small to meet the demand.
As a result of this, importers of citruses don't have a problem with finding recipients, which buy even mandarins of poorer quality.
Due to insufficient supply the price of mandarins remains at quite high level. On Friday, 16th December the price of loose mandarins was 3.80 – 4 PLN (0.91 – 0.96 Euro)/kg for fruits of medium size. The price of layered mandarins reached even 5.4 PLN (1.30 euro)/kg.
