Fairs, IFE Moscow's difficult take-off

Despite doubling the exhibition surface compared to the first edition last year, the specialized fair IFE Fresh Produce still appeared to suffer from some limitations.
The exhibition remains modest in terms of dimension and the proximity with the other main Russian event World Food Moscow, held in September and devoted to food in general, affects its success.
Within Pavillion 3, except for the Russian importer Balt Fruit - sponsoring the exhibition and being the only “private” local exhibitor - other exhibitors came from a very heterogeneous range of Countries. However, Italy was definitely the most represented Country, with groups such as Agrintesa, Apofruit, Alegra, Made in Blu, Mazzoni, Nava, Orogel Fresco, Besana and Unitec, besides the Agriculture ministry, Padua Chamber of Commerce, Ice Bari and the fair Macfrut. This proves the growing importance that Russia plays for Italian exports. Moscow alone has around 10.5 million people, being the most populated town in Europe.
The third edition will be held on 5-7 November 2008.
