New doorstep initiative for fruits and vegetables
It is important to stay home during the COVID-19. Many countries starts to deliver fruits and vegetables right to the doorstep of the house for this reason.

The Department offers vegetables in three packages (tomatoes, radish, beans, beetroot, ginger, chilies, carrots and other). Priced 300Rs. (Rupees), 500Rs and 600Rs. All packages have the same set of vegetables but with different weight.
Fruits also come in three differently-priced packages, 500Rs., 600Rs. and 800Rs., depending on the quantity of fruits (apples, bananas, muskmelons, watermelons, pomegranates, grapes and guava).
Department Director of Horticulture & Plantation Crops, N. Subbaiyan, says the order will be delivered within a day. The online service is restricted to Chennai now,” he adds.
