Ahold remains positive despite loss

Dutch retailer Ahold remains positive for 2005 and 2006 despite posting a EUR443 million loss for 2004.
The loss was mainly due to costs and charges of EUR582 million related to divestments made during the year.
Ahold said it expected to complete its EUR2.5 billion (USD3.1 billion) asset sale programme by end-2005, as planned.
