Fresh fruit and vegetable exports in Turkey in 2008

Total fresh fruit and vegetable exports of Turkey have reached approximately 2,1 million tons in 2008.
Total turnover got from exports of fresh fruit and vegetables have reached 1.515 million US$.
Within the sector, exports of citrus fruit have been 577.300 tons while fresh fruit exports have been 435.000 tons and that of fresh vegetable have been 938.000 tons.
The revenue derived from exports of these commodity groups have been 427 million US$ for citrus fruits, 480 million US$ for fresh fruit and 607 million US$ for fresh vegetables.
The first six destinations for Turkish fresh fruit and vegetables exports (including citrus) have been Russian Federation, Germany, Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria and Saudi Arabia.
And the first six export products have been tomatoes, lemons, grapes, mandarins, cherries (incl. sour cherries).
