In Brazil, professionals believe that 2023 will be a good year to reach a new export sales record.
According to Guilherme Coelho, President of Abrafrutas, the Brazilian Association of Fruit Producers and Exporters, fruit exports will exceed USD 1 billion in sales this year, 2023.
He pointed out that in 2021, one billion dollars in exports had been recorded, but that in 2022 sales had fallen back. But by 2023, the previous record should be surpassed.
The forecast performance should result from both higher volumes and prices, as well as from the performance achieved in the last quarter of the year, which is the most profitable period for foreign sales of Brazilian fruit.
