John Deere plans Chinese investments

John Deere, the world's leading agricultural machinery manufacturer, is planning two major investments in Chinese.
A new factory in Harbin, Heilongjiang province (northeast China) will manufacture medium and large tractors, sprayers and harvesting equipment. The estimated cost is $80 million and production is planned for late 2012.
Another $60 million plant in Tianjin will build engines - the sixth production site for engines along side those located in the United States, Mexico, Argentina, India and France. After the two projects, John Deere will have 8 manufacturing sites in China including two joint ventures.
John Deere is present in China since 1970, when the company participated in the pilot agricultural project ‘Friendship Farms’. source : les echos, cnw telbec
